
Eucalyptus
The Eucalyptus or gum trees are a family of fast growing, evergreen Australian trees. Many are used for screening and can give a subtropical effect with their lush rich foliage. The shapes of the leaves on the Eucalyptus, can vary greatly, with young trees often having rubbery disc shaped leaves changing to long slender ones on older plants.
Eucalyptus Gunnii – The Cider Gum
The best known species in cultivation, this fine tree is also one of the hardiest. Leaves of the adult trees are sickle shaped sage green, while those of young trees are oval and silver – blue. It will grow to a large tree or excellent bush if pruned regularly.
